I like this quote a lot because it’s so visual. Imagine negative thoughts wearing dirty, black clothes and positive ones dressed in lovely, colourful silk. The way you present your thoughts is extremely important. If you’d like to come across as a nice person, you should learn how to speak nicely. In any language.

One must agree with Goethe. I have developed a much greater understanding and appreciation of my mother tongue since I learnt how to speak some other languages. While learning a foreign language, you also learn how your own language works as opposed to the foreign one.
