Time after time - algo que aconteceu várias vezes, repetidamente, a toda hora

Bad mistakes - Erros sérios

to come through - superar

kick sand in one´s face - ser insultado por alguém superior, de modo a não poder se defender

no time for losers - perdedores não tem vez

bow - arco, sentido figurado para "instrumento de trabalho

take my pegar meu instrumento de trabalho. compare com Take bow, que quer dizer curvar-se

bed of roses - significando que não está sendo fácil, algo como nosso "mel na chupeta, mamata, moleza"

pleasure cruise - um passeio de barco para fins recreativos

challenge - desafio

human race - raça humana

Nesta música é usado vários tempos verbais. É conveniente relembrar cada um desses tempos com os alunos

I´ve paid my dues - ele tem pago pelas dividas já à algum tempo e ainda continua a pagar

Time after time - Veja que essa expressão reforça a continuidade que iniciou no passado e continua ainda

I´ve done my sentence - ele cumpriu a sentença dele, mas ainda está cumprindo, não conseguiu se libertar.

But committed no crime - aqui já se usa o Past Simple. querendo dizer que ele não cometeu nenhum crime no passado. O Past Simple é usado para coisas que já terminaram.
And bad mistakes 
I've made a few - novamente o Present Perfect, que dá a idéia que ele cometeu erros e ainda comete
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face - O uso do Present Perfect mostra que os insultos não acabaram
But I've come through -  E aqui mostra que ele tem se superado
